SVG 101 - Byclosure
Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is a standard open format for graphical content. With the increasing support on modern web browsers, it has been allowing to enhance the usage experience of modern web applications through support for vectorial graphics, interactions and animations of these contents, without the necessity to resort to external plug-ins.
With the adoption of this technology, it has been possible to create functionalities such as route illustrations on Google Maps or the development of dashboards with dynamic charts and infocharts.
Promoted by Byclosure, this workhops aims to introduce the basic concepts of this technology to it's participants, approaching the following topics:
- Relationship between SVG and HTML5

Should have a computer, with the following software installed:
- Chrome Browser
- Git (nice to have)
- Installation of node & npm
- Your favorite Editor (Textmate, Sublime, ...)
Desired level of knowledge of participants:
- HTML (basic knowledge)
- CSS (basic knowledge)
- Others: Good mood (mandatory)
Senior Software Developer from Byclosure with over 5 years of professional and acamedic experience on developing complex web and mobile applications. On it's route at Byclosure participated in several development projects for clients in the Transportation and Retail areas, based on technologies like HTML5, GWT and Java. Masters in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications from University of Aveiro, before joining Byclosure worked with greater focus on the Flash platform. On his free time, he enjoys being offline.
